WIN-scan
Make workplace happiness measurable. Give your clients data they can act on.
For coaches and consultants working with teams and organizations on engagement, vitality and sustainable employability, the WIN-scan (Workplace Happiness Scan) is the validated assessment from Lieke Bezemer and the Werkgeluk Instituut Nederland. It measures how happy, engaged and energized people are in their work, and translates that into a clear, actionable report. You take that report into the coaching conversation: pinpoint where happiness and energy are strong or at risk, and guide your client toward interventions that stick. No guesswork. A measurable starting point, and a way to track progress over time.

What the WIN-scan measures
The WIN-scan (werkgelukscan) was developed by Lieke Bezemer and the Werkgeluk Instituut Nederland. It rests on a straightforward but powerful premise: workplace happiness is not a soft extra. Happy employees are more productive, more creative, less often ill and stay longer. The WIN-scan makes that visible and measurable, across six themes that together give your client a full picture of how their people experience work, and where to focus to make it better.
Six dimensions
Workplace happiness
The overall sense of happiness and satisfaction employees experience in their daily work.
Employee engagement
How connected and committed people feel to their work, team and organization.
Vitality and energy
Whether employees have the energy and resilience to sustain their performance and avoid burnout.
Meaningful work
The degree to which people experience their work as purposeful and personally significant.
Team and relationships
How safe, connected and supported people feel within their team and broader work environment.
Sustainable employability
Whether people can continue to develop, grow and contribute at work over the long term.
Typical use cases for coaches and consultants
- Start a team or culture engagement with a clear, data-driven baseline instead of a diagnostic guess.
- Give HR leaders and managers a concrete picture of where engagement and vitality are at risk before they become retention or absenteeism problems.
- Use as a progress measurement mid-way through or at the end of a culture or wellbeing program.
- Help a leadership team prioritize: the WIN-scan shows which themes need attention most urgently.
- Anchor a wellbeing or vitality coaching track in evidence, not just conversation.
How it works
From survey to coaching conversation in about [EDIT: confirm typical turnaround]. Pay-as-you-go per deployment, no subscriptions, no platform commitments, no surprise costs along the way.
You set up and send the survey
Once certified, you administer the WIN-scan to your client's team. Employees complete the online questionnaire individually. You stay in control of timing, communication and scope.
The report arrives
Results are compiled into a clear WIN-scan report showing where workplace happiness, engagement and vitality stand, at individual and team level. The data is ready to take into your coaching session.
You debrief and prioritize
You guide the conversation with your client around the findings. You identify what the numbers mean, where to act first, and what a realistic improvement plan looks like. You stay the strategist.
Measure and track over time
The WIN-scan is designed to be repeated. Use it to track progress, demonstrate the impact of interventions, and keep the conversation grounded in data rather than perception.

The debrief session you design around the results is typically one to two hours, depending on team size and depth of conversation.
In which languages is the WIN-scan available?
The WIN-scan is currently available in Dutch. An English version can be arranged on request. If you work with international clients or teams, get in touch and we will confirm what is possible.
What does my client receive as a deliverable?
A team-level WIN-scan report with results across all six dimensions: workplace happiness, employee engagement, vitality, meaningful work, team and relationships, and sustainable employability. The report includes both aggregate team results and individual profiles, giving you and your client a complete picture of where to act. You take the report into a coaching conversation and guide the prioritization and improvement planning.
How is privacy handled?
[EDIT: confirm with Lieke - hosting region, GDPR compliance status, data retention policy, who can access individual-level results, anonymity thresholds for small teams.]
Do I need to be certified to deploy the WIN-scan with my clients?
Yes. The WIN-scan is a certification-gated assessment. You complete the WIN-scan Practitioner Certification before deploying it with clients. Certification ensures you can interpret the results accurately and guide a coaching conversation that delivers real value. Esperto provides certification and ongoing support as part of the partner relationship.
How does pricing work, and what is my margin?
Pay-as-you-go. Once you are a certified WIN-scan practitioner, you pay per team deployment at the partner rate (contact us to confirm the exact amount). No subscriptions, no platform fees, no minimums. Your margin lives in the difference between the partner rate and what you charge your client for the coaching and consulting engagement built around the results. Certification is a separate one-time investment.
Can I combine the WIN-scan with other Esperto assessments?
Yes. Many partners combine the WIN-scan with the Organizational Culture Survey (for a deeper culture diagnostic alongside the happiness data), the Culture Fix (to structure the conversation around what to change and why), or individual assessments like 5 States of Success (to understand the people driving or limiting team happiness). The WIN-scan maps how people feel; other assessments explain what is driving it.
How do I measure work happiness in a team?
The WIN-scan measures work happiness through a short online questionnaire and turns the results into a clear, scored report. Coaches and consultants use it to give their client data the team can act on, instead of a gut feeling.
