The 5 States Team Report

Turn individual insight into one honest picture of how the team really works.

The Team Report combines the personal profiles of a group into a single team-level view of the five states: Clarity, Connection, Certainty, Vitality and Spirit. It outlines the wider dynamics at play: where the team's collective strengths lie, which state the group is quietly depleting, and how the mix of profiles explains the friction and the flow. You facilitate the conversation and own the follow-up; Seachange Now handles platform, scoring and report delivery.

About the assessment

What the Team Report measures

Every team member completes the 5 States questionnaire, and their profiles are combined into one team-level picture. The report shows how the group scores across Clarity, Connection, Certainty, Vitality and Spirit, and outlines the wider dynamics at play: the states the team can lean on, the state that is quietly draining the group, and how the spread of individual profiles explains what you see in the room. It gives a team something rare: a shared, blame-free language for a conversation about how they work together, with each member's own Personal Report as their private starting point.

Typical use cases for coaches and consultants

  • Anchor a team offsite in evidence: open with the team profile instead of opinions about each other.
  • Diagnose why a capable leadership team keeps underdelivering, state by state rather than person by person.
  • Combine individual coaching and team development in one programme built on the same framework.
  • Give a newly formed or merged team a fast, structured read on its collective strengths and gaps.
  • Re-run it after a team programme to show the group its own measurable movement.

How it works

From brief to debriefable team profile in days once the whole team has responded. No subscriptions, no platform commitments, no surprise costs along the way.

1

Set up and invite

You brief Esperto on the team and the engagement; we coordinate with Seachange Now to send each member a unique questionnaire link.

2

The team responds

Each member completes the assessment in about 20 minutes. The platform scores every profile and combines them into the team report.

3

You facilitate the conversation

You debrief the team profile in a workshop or offsite, turning the shared picture into agreements the team actually owns.

Answers

Team Report questions

Who is the Team Report for?

Coaches and consultants working with leadership teams, management teams and intact teams that want to perform better together. It suits team development programmes, offsites, and any engagement where the group, not just the individuals, is the client.

How long does it take?

Each team member completes the questionnaire in about 20 minutes. The team report follows once everyone has responded, so the total turnaround mostly depends on how quickly the team completes. [EDIT: confirm exact turnaround with Seachange Now.]

What does the team receive?

A combined Team Report: the group's scored profile across all five states, an outline of the wider dynamics at play, per-state analysis, and practical strategies the team can work on together. Each member can also receive their own Personal Report as a private starting point.

Can team members see each other's results?

The team conversation happens at group level: the Team Report shows the combined picture, not a ranking of individuals. Each member's own profile stays theirs to share as they choose, which keeps the debrief honest and blame-free. [EDIT: confirm exact anonymity setup with Seachange Now.]

Do I need to be certified to deploy it?

Yes. You first complete a half-day accreditation facilitated by Brendan Foley and Seachange Now, which equips you to facilitate the team debrief well. An annual licence applies. Contact us and we will connect you to arrange your accreditation.

Can I combine it with the Personal or 360 Report?

Yes, that is the natural flow: Personal Reports give every member their own insight, the Team Report reveals the shared dynamics, and a 360 adds depth for individual leaders who want to go further. All three use the same five states, so the picture stays consistent.

Ready to add this to your toolkit?

Let's talk about how the Team Report fits your practice.

A short discovery call is the fastest way to know whether this is the right tool for your next engagement. We will ask how you work with teams, what outcomes matter, and where team development sits in your offering. Then we will be honest about whether the Team Report is the right match, or whether the Personal Report, the 360, or something else in the Esperto toolkit fits better.
