For experts, authors and methodologists

How does Esperto turn your expertise into a global assessment?

Esperto runs a three-stage process called Discover, Develop, Deliver that turns your methodology into a tested, multilingual, scalable assessment under your name. You stay focused on the substance: your model, your IP, your expertise. We handle the design, build, languages, distribution, support and reporting. From first conversation to first paying client typically takes 12 to 16 weeks. You keep full ownership of your IP and pick the partnership tier that matches your ambition.

  1. You bring the model. We bring the platform, the build, the languages and the operations.
  2. Discover sets the scope: target audience, questionnaire structure, scoring logic, report format.
  3. Develop turns your model into a working, tested, multilingual assessment with reports.
  4. Deliver puts it live with onboarding, distribution, marketing assets and ongoing operations.
  5. Three tiers: Expert €7,500 per year, Authority €15,000 per year, Legend custom.
  6. Typical timeline from kickoff to first paying client: 12 to 16 weeks.
  7. Already running for Bill Isaacs (Pathfinder), Verne Harnish (Scaling Up) and Cassandra Worthy (Change Growth Scorecard).
Audience

Who is this page for?

This page is written for experts and authors who own a methodology and want to scale it as an assessment without hiring a tech team. If you have a published book, a proven framework, or years of consulting practice that has crystallised into a model, you are who Esperto built this process for.

The typical Esperto expert is a thought leader, professor, coach-author or methodologist in the leadership, culture, change or growth space. You already know your model works in the room. You are not yet sure how to turn it into something hundreds or thousands of people use globally without you in the room.

The framework

What is Discover, Develop, Deliver?

Discover, Develop, Deliver is Esperto's three-stage process for taking a body of expertise and shipping it as a working assessment, under your brand, to a global audience. The framework is simple on purpose. Each stage has a clear deliverable, a clear timeline, and a clear handoff. By the end of stage three you have an assessment live on the Esperto platform, in the languages you need, with reports that match your voice, ready to be sold to coaches, organisations or end users.

1

Discover

2 to 4 weeks

Define audience, questionnaire structure, scoring logic and report format. Sign off a one-page assessment brief.

2

Develop

6 to 10 weeks

Build the questionnaire, scoring engine, reports and language versions. Pilot with your community and adjust.

3

Deliver

2 to 3 weeks plus ongoing

Public launch, buyer onboarding, marketing pack and ongoing operations. You focus on your audience; we run the platform.

Phase 1 / Discover

What do we figure out together in Discover?

Discover answers four questions about your assessment: who is it for, what does it measure, how does it score, and what does the user receive at the end. The phase starts with a working session of three to four hours, usually split across two calls. We bring an assessment designer. You bring your model, your existing materials (book, slides, training notes, prior pilots), and your honest answers to a structured intake. By the end of the phase you sign off a one-page assessment brief.

That brief covers the construct your assessment measures, the dimensions and sub-dimensions, the target population, the questionnaire approach (Likert, semantic differential, forced choice, or a mix), the scoring logic, the report structure, the rollout plan and a draft language list. We also lock in what kind of normative data you want to collect over time, because that is much harder to bolt on later than to design in early.

Discover takes between two and four weeks of calendar time, depending on how well-formed your model already is. Experts who have validated their framework with hundreds of clients usually finish Discover in two weeks. Experts whose model still mostly lives in a book and a Keynote take a bit longer, because we work through the parts of the model that have not yet been operationalised. We do not start the build until you sign off the brief. That costs a little upfront speed, and it saves both sides a lot of pain in stage two.

Phase 2 / Develop

How do we turn your model into a working assessment?

Develop is where your model becomes software. The Esperto team builds the questionnaire, the scoring engine, the reports and the language versions inside the Esperto platform. You stay close, but light. Most experts are involved roughly two to three hours per week during this phase, mostly in review sessions on questionnaire wording, sign-off on scoring thresholds, and voice-and-tone passes on the report copy.

The build runs along three parallel tracks. Track one is the questionnaire and scoring: the team engineers the items, calibrates the scale, runs a pilot with a small group from your community to check internal consistency, and adjusts. Track two is the report: layout, narrative voice, charts, executive summary. Track three is languages: by default Esperto ships English plus one additional language, and you can add more on the same platform later. The platform currently runs assessments in 34 languages, and the technical translation framework is the same regardless of which ones you pick.

Develop takes between six and ten weeks. The biggest variable is the report. Experts who give the team a clean report draft (or accept the Esperto template) finish faster. Experts who want extensive copywriting passes on the report take longer. Either path works. Esperto tells you upfront which one you have chosen, so the timeline reflects reality rather than wishful thinking.

Phase 3 / Deliver

How do you go from launch to scale?

Deliver covers everything between "the assessment works" and "people are using it on three continents". It is the phase most expert-led products get wrong, because they treat launch as an event instead of a system. Esperto treats it as a system. Deliver includes the public launch on the Esperto platform, onboarding for the first cohort of buyers (coaches or organisations), a marketing pack you can send to your network on day one, and ongoing operational support.

The marketing pack contains a landing page on espertoassessments.com under your assessment, a set of LinkedIn templates with your assessment branding, a launch announcement email, a one-pager for coaches, and a short demo video script. None of this replaces your own marketing voice. It just gives your network a finished package on the day you decide to start telling people.

Deliver also covers the part nobody sees: the operations. Buyer support, payment handling, refund logic, GDPR requests, language additions, platform updates and bug fixes are all handled inside Esperto. You are involved when something needs your judgement. You are not involved when something needs an admin to fix it. That distinction is the entire promise of the partnership.

Who does what

What do you bring, and what do we bring?

This is the most common question we get, so we will answer it straight. You bring six things. Esperto brings nine. Together that is the assessment.

You bring

The substance.

  • The model and the IP.
  • Existing knowledge base (book, training, frameworks).
  • Your community and audience.
  • Voice and tone preferences.
  • Calibration input as data comes in.
  • Roughly 30 to 40 hours of your time across the first 16 weeks.

Esperto brings

The platform and the operations.

  • The Esperto assessment platform.
  • Questionnaire engineering and scoring algorithms.
  • Multilingual report engine across 34 languages.
  • Design system and report layouts.
  • Buyer-facing interface and coach dashboard.
  • EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant data infrastructure.
  • Assessment designers and behavioural scientists.
  • Day-to-day delivery team and support.
  • Ongoing platform updates and maintenance.

You retain full ownership of your IP at all stages. Esperto is the platform partner, not the owner of your model. If you ever choose to leave, the structure of the contract makes it possible. That has not happened to date, but the contract is still written that way, because nobody should commit a body of work to a partner who has trapped them.

Timeline

How long does the full process take?

Twelve to sixteen weeks is the typical timeline from kickoff call to first paying client. Discover takes two to four weeks. Develop takes six to ten weeks. Deliver overlaps with the end of Develop and runs for two to three weeks before launch, then becomes ongoing operations.

Discover

2 to 4 weeks

Develop

6 to 10 weeks

Deliver

2 to 3 weeks plus ongoing

Week 0 to week 16, typical engagement

A few things speed it up. A model that is already operationalised in a workshop or training. An existing community ready to be the first cohort. A clear initial language scope (English plus one). A willingness to use the standard Esperto report template as a starting point. With all four, the full path runs in twelve weeks.

A few things slow it down. A model that is still being written. A wish to launch in five languages on day one. A heavy customisation request on the report that pulls the design team away from the core build. A buyer-side audience that needs to be built from scratch. Any of these moves the timeline towards eighteen to twenty weeks. Esperto tells you that on call one, not call ten.

Pricing

What does it cost to run an assessment with Esperto?

Three tiers, each priced per year, each with a clear inclusion. All tiers include the Esperto platform, hosting, support, GDPR-compliant data handling, and ongoing platform updates.

Expert

€7,500 / year

One assessment, the standard Esperto report and English plus one additional language.

Authority

€15,000 / year

One assessment with extended customisation, multiple report variants and a wider language pack.

Legend

Custom

Multiple assessments, deep custom integrations, or co-branded enterprise rollouts.

For the full breakdown of what fits which tier, see the Esperto pricing page.

Esperto does not charge per respondent. That is a deliberate choice. Per-respondent pricing punishes you for distributing your work. Annual partnership pricing rewards you for it.

Proof

What do experts say after going through the process?

Three current Esperto experts have put their work through Discover, Develop, Deliver. Their experience is the most useful thing we can show you, because every one of them was sceptical of platform partners before they signed.

BI

Bill Isaacs

Author of "Dialogue" / Pathfinder

Bill scaled his Pathfinder assessment with Esperto. Pathfinder is built on Jung archetypes and underpins Bill's executive coaching practice. The build covered the assessment, multiple report layouts and a coach interface. Bill kept his model and his voice. Esperto handled the platform.

VH

Verne Harnish

Founder Scaling Up & EO

Verne runs six different Scaling Up assessments through Esperto. The flagship Scaling Up Assessment plus five supporting tools, all on one platform with consistent reporting and integrated coach workflows. Six assessments under one expert is the strongest test of whether the framework holds up at scale. It does.

CW

Cassandra Worthy

Founder Change Enthusiasm Global

Cassandra built the Change Growth Scorecard with Esperto, anchored in her Change Enthusiasm methodology. The scorecard measures the emotional climate of organisations going through change. The build went from intake to launch in roughly fourteen weeks and is now used by Fortune 500 clients in Cassandra's portfolio.

Honest answer

When is Discover, Develop, Deliver not for you?

Three situations where this partnership is the wrong fit, and Esperto will say so on the first call.

1

Your model is not yet operationalised.

If your framework lives in a book and a few keynote slides but has never been tested in a workshop, the work to turn it into an assessment is real research, not a build. Esperto can do that work, but it is a different conversation. You probably want a thinking partner first, not a platform partner.

2

You want a one-off project, not a partnership.

Esperto is built for ongoing use of your assessment over years. If you want a single questionnaire built, hosted for six months and then archived, Esperto is too heavyweight for that. A simple survey tool will serve you better.

3

You need full white-label autonomy from day one.

Esperto experts launch on espertoassessments.com and benefit from Esperto's infrastructure, brand trust and coach network. If you need a fully white-labelled platform with your own domain and zero Esperto branding from launch, the Legend tier can deliver this, but it is a different commercial model. Most experts do not need it. Some do. Esperto will be honest about which side you are on.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I keep my IP?

Yes. Your IP stays yours at every stage of the partnership and after, if you choose to leave. Esperto is your platform partner, not the owner of your methodology. The contract reflects that explicitly.

What languages can my assessment run in?

The Esperto platform currently delivers assessments in 34 languages. Standard tiers ship English plus one additional language. Adding more languages later runs through the same translation framework and does not require a rebuild.

How do payment and pricing work for the buyer?

Buyers (coaches and organisations) pay per assessment or per seat, depending on the model your assessment fits. Esperto handles billing, refunds and renewals through the platform. Your annual partnership fee is separate from the buyer revenue, which flows under a revenue-share or licence model agreed upfront.

Can I update the assessment after it launches?

Yes. Most experts make small updates every six to twelve months as new data comes in. Major version updates run as a small Develop-phase project. The platform supports versioning, so existing buyers stay on a stable version while new buyers receive the updated one.

How do you handle data and GDPR?

Esperto hosts in the EU, complies with GDPR by design, and runs respondent data through a privacy framework that has been reviewed by enterprise legal teams in multiple sectors. Buyers can request standard data processing agreements through the platform.

What if my model is still mostly in a book?

That is workable but takes longer. Discover spends more time operationalising the model into measurable dimensions. Some experts split this into a smaller Discover-only engagement first, before deciding whether to commit to a full build.

Can I see an example of an assessment built this way?

Yes. The Esperto team will walk you through Pathfinder, the Scaling Up Assessment and the Change Growth Scorecard on a discovery call, so you can see report layouts, scoring logic and the coach interface for each.

Do you work with experts whose audience is mostly outside English?

Yes. Of the 34 languages on the platform, several represent active expert deployments. Esperto has run assessments with primary audiences in Dutch, German, French, Portuguese and Mandarin.

Next step

Apply as an Esperto expert.

If you have a methodology you want to turn into a global assessment, the next step is a 30-minute conversation. Esperto uses that call to understand your model, the maturity of your work, your timeline and your audience. From there the team either proposes a Discover engagement or, if Esperto is not the right fit, says so directly and points you towards a better one.
